Eligibility Criteria For AIIMS Guwahati Recruitment
Essential Qualification & Experience:
1) Additional Professor
For General Disciplines:
- Medical Qualification: Must be included in Schedule I or II, or Part II of Schedule III, of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (Qualifications in Part II of Schedule III must meet the conditions in Section 13(3) of the Act.)
- Postgraduate Qualification: MD/MS or an equivalent recognized qualification in the relevant discipline/subject.
- Experience: 10 years of teaching and/or research in a recognized institution in the relevant specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree.
For Super Speciality Disciplines:
- Medical Qualification: As mentioned above.
Postgraduate Qualification:
- MD/MS or an equivalent recognized qualification in the relevant discipline/subject.
- AND/OR
- D.M. (for medical super specialities) or M.Ch. (for surgical super specialities) in the relevant discipline/subject, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
Experience:
- 8 years of teaching and/or research in a recognized institution in the relevant specialty after obtaining a D.M./M.Ch. (2 or 5-year course after MBBS) or an equivalent qualification. OR
- 7 years of teaching and/or research in a recognized institution in the relevant specialty for those with a 3-year D.M./M.Ch. degree or an equivalent qualification.
2) Associate Professor
For General Discipline (Medical Candidates):
- Medical Qualification: Must be included in Schedule I or II, or Part II of Schedule III, of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (Qualifications in Part II of Schedule III must meet the conditions in Section 13(3) of the Act.)
- Postgraduate Qualification: MD/MS or an equivalent recognized qualification in the relevant discipline/subject.
- Experience: 6 years of teaching and/or research in a recognized institution in the relevant specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree.
For Super Speciality Disciplines:
- Medical Qualification: As mentioned above.
Postgraduate Qualification:
- MD/MS or an equivalent recognized qualification in the relevant discipline/subject. AND/OR
- D.M. (for medical super specialities) or M.Ch. (for surgical super specialities) in the relevant discipline/subject, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
Experience:
- 4 years of teaching and/or research in a recognized institution in the relevant specialty after obtaining a D.M./M.Ch. (2 or 5-year course after MBBS) or an equivalent qualification. OR
- 3 years of teaching and/or research in a recognized institution in the relevant specialty for those with a 3-year D.M./M.Ch. degree or an equivalent qualification.
3) Assistant Professor
For General Disciplines (Medical Candidates):
- Medical Qualification: Included in Schedule I or II, or Part II of Schedule III, of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (Qualifications in Part II of Schedule III must meet the conditions in Section 13(3) of the Act.)
- Postgraduate Qualification: MD/MS or an equivalent recognized qualification in the relevant discipline/subject.
- Experience: 3 years of teaching and/or research in a recognized institution in the relevant specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Assistant Professor in Paediatrics: Minimum of 1 year of training or work experience in Paediatric Neurology.
- Assistant Professor in Psychiatry: Minimum of 1 year of training or work experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
For Super Speciality Disciplines:
- Medical Qualification: As mentioned above.
Postgraduate Qualification:
- MD/MS or an equivalent recognized qualification in the relevant discipline/subject. AND/OR
- D.M. (for medical super specialities) or M.Ch. (for surgical super specialities) in the relevant discipline/subject, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
Experience:
- 1 year of teaching and/or research in a recognized institution in the relevant specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of D.M./M.Ch. (2 or 5-year course after MBBS) or an equivalent qualification.
- No experience required for candidates with a 3-year recognized degree of D.M./M.Ch. or an equivalent qualification.
Age Limit For AIIMS Guwahati Posts
Post-Wise Details:
- Additional Professor: Age not exceeding 58 years as of 13th September, 2024.
- Associate Professor/Assistant Professor: Age not exceeding 50 years as of 13th September, 2024.
Category-Wise Upper Age Relaxation:

- OBC: 3 years
