Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
1) Technician Grade 1 Signal:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Instrumentation from a recognized University/Institute.
- Or B.Sc. in a combination of any sub-stream of basic streams of Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Instrumentation from a recognized University/Institute.
- Or Three years Diploma in Engineering in the above basic streams or a combination of any of the above basic streams.
- Or Degree in Engineering in the above basic streams or a combination of any of the above basic streams.
2) Technician Grade 3:
- Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the specified trade/s as mentioned in the official notification.
- Or Matriculation/SSLC plus completion of Course Act Apprenticeship in the trades mentioned above.
Age Limit
- Technician Grade 1 Signal: Candidates age must be between 18 to 36 years as 1st July 2024.
- Technician Grade 3: Candidates age must be between 18 to 33 years as 1st July 2024.
Age Relaxation:
- OBC-NCL: 3 years relaxation
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
- PwBD – UR & EWS: 10 years relaxation
- PwBD – OBC/NCL: 13 years relaxation
- PwBD – SC & ST: 15 years relaxation

The RRB Technician Recruitment 2024 Selection process comprises four phases:

Exam Pattern
The RRB Technician exam will be conducted online with a duration of 90 minutes. It will comprise 100 questions. Please note the following details regarding scoring:
- Negative marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
Minimum passing marks:
- General and EWS: 40%
- OBC: 30%
- SC: 30%
- ST: 25%
