SAMARTH Portal Assam
The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Assam has launched a new admission portal for UG Admission in Colleges and Universities of Assam known as SAMARTH Admission Portal.
SAMARTH Admission Portal has been launched by the Education Minister of Assam on 14th June 2023.
SAMARTH Admission Portal is a common application portal of Assam where students can apply online for admission to undergraduate courses.
On this portal, students can submit admission applications for courses like BA, B.Com, BSc etc.
Earlier, a similar initiative has been taken by the Government of Assam for higher secondary first-year admission by launching the DARPAN portal.

The applicants who are permanent residents of Assam must answer “Yes” to the “Do you have domicile of Assam?” question and are required to upload one of the specified documents in the PRC field. This change is mandatory.
It is important for all students to be aware that in certain colleges, they are required to register on the college’s portal as well.
Once students have submitted their applications through the SAMARTH portal, they may need to complete the registration process on the respective college’s portal in order to secure their admission.

Benefits of Samarth Portal
The SAMARTH Portal will be beneficial to both students as well as institutions like:
- Students will be free from the hassles of applying individually at different colleges.
- Overlapping admission will be avoided.
- Ease the financial burden on Colleges/Universities to maintain ERP system at Institution level.
- No maintenance hassles for the digital platform and no cost involved from the college at any point while using the digital platform.
- Assam Govt. Fee waiver scheme to be linked to SAMARTH. As such all the deserving students can avail fee waiver only when the students apply through the SAMARTH platform.
Fee Waiver Scheme of Assam
The students should note that the popular fee waiver scheme of the Government of Assam will be provided to only those students who will take admissions through the SAMARTH Admission Portal.
As per the official notification, the fee waiver scheme of the Assam Government will be linked to SAMARTH. As such all the deserving students can avail fee waiver only when the students apply through the SAMARTH platform.

How to Apply for Admission in SAMARTH Admission Portal?
The students who qualified for the Higher Secondary Exam will be able to get admission to Graduate Courses by filling out a combined form newly launched by the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Assam.
The candidates need to follow the below mentioned steps to apply for UG Admission in Assam under the SAMARTH Admission Portal:
- Scroll down and go to the Important Links Section
- Click on Apply Online
- An official web portal will load in the new tab of your browser
- In that portal, you will see an option to register yourself
- After registration, you have to fill up all the details as asked for
- Next step, you have to upload all your official documents
- After successful completion of the above steps, your application will be submitted
- Also, you will receive an acknowledgement copy of your application submission
- Take a printout of the acknowledgement copy for future reference
Note: The students can give 10 options of UG programme in Colleges/ University in the application.
