Employment Exchange Registration, Assam

The Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Assam has digitised the process of preparation for the Employment Exchange Registration Certificate from the various employment exchanges in Assam.

The Employment Exchange Registration Certificate is an essential document to get a government job in Assam.

The Assam Government under the leadership of Hob’ble Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has been taking many bold steps and this is one of those many steps.

The online registration process is a great and welcome step by the Government of Assam as it minimises the physical visit to the employment exchanges of Assam and it provides an opportunity to the candidates to get the certificate directly at their home.

Earlier, the application process of Employment Exchange Registration was offline only. But starting from 27th September 2021, the Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of Assam has digitized the entire process of Employment Exchange Registration.

Hence now onwards, you can apply online for Employment Exchange Registration Certificate in Assam and Manual Registration process has been discontinued .

The Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training, Assam has asked the candidates to re-register at the Employment Exchange centres before 29th February, 2024. Read the official notification for Assam Employment Exchange Card Re-registration here.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam Employment Exchange Registration

Age Limit

All citizens of India above the age of 14 years who are permanent residents of Assam are eligible to register their names in the Employment Exchange of the State of Assam.

Domicile

The candidates are eligible for Registration in one Employment Exchange only in the state, where they are permanent residents within the jurisdiction of the District.

NOC for Employed Candidates

Applicants who are already employed and seeking better employment have to be registered only after production of a “No Objection Certificate” issued by the employer.

How to Apply Online for Assam Employment Exchange Card Registration?

The candidates who want to register their names in Employment Exchanges through online mode must apply through official web portal of Department of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Assam.

There are two modes for Online Employment Exchange Registration: AADHAAR Based Verification and NON-AADHAAR Based Verification. Candidates have to submit their online applications on the basis of these two verification methods. Both verification methods are briefly described below:

1. AADHAR Based Verification

In AADHAAR Based Verification method, the candidates may simply apply online through official portal by using their AADHAAR Card with permanent address within the state of Assam.

They don’t need to visit the Employment Exchange/s physically. So, candidates having AADHAAR Card may follow below mentioned steps:

  • Scroll down, go to Important Links section
  • Click on Online Exchange Card Registration link.
  • The official application portal will load in the new tab.
  • Complete the registration process with the help of your mobile number.
  • Login to the portal by providing the User ID and Password.
  • Choose Register in Employment Exchange (AADHAAR Based) option.
  • Now, fill all the required and asked information.
  • Upload the required documents in the asked file format and size.
  • After that you will get an option to download Employment Exchange Registration e-certificate.

Note: Please scan all Educational Qualification (Pass Certificate & Mark sheets in chronological order from lowest level to highest level) into a single PDF and upload as one single PDF.

2. NON-AADHAR Based Verification

Candidates who don’t have AADHAAR card must use Non-AADHAAR Based Verification method for getting Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.

However, applicants have to physically visit Employment Exchange office/s for verification of documents. The online application process for Non-AADHAAR Based Verification is as mentioned below:

  • Scroll down, check Important Links section.
  • Click on Online Exchange Card Registration link.
  • The official application portal will load in the new tab.
  • Complete the registration process with the help of your mobile number.
  • Login to the portal by providing the User ID and Password.
  • Choose Register in Employment Exchange (Non-AADHAAR Based) option.
  • Select date and time for verification of documents.
  • Visit employment office for the documents verification.
  • Follow the necessary guidelines and process.
  • Receive the Employment Registration Certificate.

Documents Required for Employment Exchange Registration Assam

1. Mobile Number

Candidates will have to provide a valid and active mobile number to complete the online registration process.

2. Documents Related to Educational Qualification

Candidates have to produce a single PDF of all their pass certificates and mark sheets. Note that all copies of documents must be scanned and clearly readable otherwise your application may be rejected.

3. Age Proof

Candidates will have to submit any one of the following mentioned documents as their age proof.

  • Birth Certificate.
  • HSLC Admit Card.
  • School Certificate.

4. Proof of Residency

Candidates will have to submit any one of the following mentioned documents as a proof of their residence.

  • AADHAAR Card with permanent address within the state of Assam.
  • Driving License (Self or Parents).
  • Copy of Chitha/Jamabandi (Self or Parents).
  • Copy of Passport (Self or Parents).
  • Certified Copy of Electoral Roll/EPIC (Self or Parents).

5. Caste Certificate

Candidates have to upload caste certificate if they belong to SC/ ST/ OBC/MOBC/ EWS category.

6. PWD

PWD (Person with Disability) candidates have to upload a disability certificate issued by the competent authority.

7. Experience Certificate 

Already employed candidates may upload experience certificates as applicable.

8. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate

OBC/ MOBC-NCL candidates may upload Non- Creamy Layer Certificate as applicable.

Registration Fee for Employment Exchange Registration

The Assam Employment Exchange Card Online Registration is a completely free process and candidates do not need to pay any statutory charges to obtain Employment Exchange Registration Certificate in Assam. However, if you apply through PFC/ CSC, you may need to pay the following charges as applicable:

Renewal of Assam Employment Exchange Certificate

  • Every registrant shall renew his /her registration once in three (3) years in the due month as indicated on his/ her Registration card.
  • Failure to renew the registration even after lapse of grace period (3 months), will lead to cancellation of registration and subsequent removal from Live Register maintained in the Employment Exchange.
  • No request for renewal of registration after the expiry of the due month and grace period shall be entertained under any circumstances.
