Educational Qualification for NVS Shillong Recruitment 2023

(i) Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs)

Essential:

• A Master’s degree from a recognized University in the relevant subject with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
• B.Ed. Degree.
• Proficiency in teaching in both Hindi and English Medium.

Desirable:

• Teaching experience in a recognized school.
• Experience of working in a residential school.
• Knowledge of computer applications.
• Familiarity with regional languages.

(ii) Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs)

Essential:

• Four-year integrated degree course of Regional College or Education of NCERT or other NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject as well as in the aggregate.

Desirable:

• Teaching experience in a recognized school.
• Experience of working in a residential school.
• Knowledge of computer applications.
• Familiarity with regional languages.

(iii) Art Teacher

Essential:

• Degree in Fine Arts/Crafts from a recognized University.
• Proficiency in teaching through English and Hindi.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of regional languages.
• Experience of working in a residential school.
• Teaching experience in a recognized school.
• Knowledge of computer applications.
• Achievements at State/National level competitions.

(iv) Physical Education Teacher (Male & Female)

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) from a recognized University.
• Proficiency in teaching through English and Hindi.

Desirable:

• Working experience in a recognized school.
• Knowledge of regional languages.
• M.P.Ed./M.Sc. (Sports Coaching) from LNCPE, LNIPE, NSU, or any National or State University.

(v) Music Teachers

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in music from a recognized university.

(vii) Faculty-cum-System Administrator (FCSA)

Essential:

• Graduation with PGDCA from a recognized university/institution recognized by AICTE (minimum 50% marks).
• Or BCA/B.Sc./B.Tech/BE in Computer Science/Information Technology or Information science from a recognized university.
• Or MCA/Master’s in Computer Science/Other Post Graduate Degree in Computer Science/IT from a recognized university.

Desirable:

• Teaching experience in a recognized school.
• Experience of working in a residential school.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and networking.
• Familiarity with regional languages.
• Achievements in the field of ICT or mentoring of students at State/National level competitions.

• Upper age limit for all categories of teachers is 50 years as on July 01, 2023.

• For Ex-NVS/Superannuated Govt. School Teachers maximum age limit will be 62 years as on July 01, 2023.
