UPSC CMS Recruitment 2024: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued the official recruitment of various Medical Officer Posts under the Combined Medical Services (CMS) Examination 2024. This notification announced a vacancy of 827 Posts.

UPSC CMS Vacancy Details

  • Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre in the Central Health Service.

Category-II:

  • Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways.
  • General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council.
  • General Duty Medical Officer Gr-II in Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Category-I:

  • Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of Central Health Service: 163 posts.

Category-II:

  • Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways: 450 posts.
  • General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council: 14 posts.
  • General Duty Medical Officer Gr-II in Municipal Corporation of Delhi: 200 posts.

Eligibility Criteria For UPSC CMS Recruitment

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must have passed both the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. examination to be eligible.
  • Those who havent yet passed the final M.B.B.S. exam can apply provisionally, but admission depends on passing the written exam.
  • If provisionally admitted candidates pass the written exam, they must provide proof of passing the final M.B.B.S. exam by the Detailed Application Form’s closing date.
  • Candidates without a completed compulsory rotating internship can still apply but will be appointed only after completing the internship if selected.

Nationality:

  • Citizen of India
  • Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugee arriving before January 1, 1962, intending to settle permanently in India
  • Person of Indian origin migrating from specified countries, intending to settle permanently in India
  • Candidates from Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet (before 1962), or specific countries need a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.
  • Candidates needing eligibility certificates can apply for the exam but receive appointment offers only after obtaining the necessary certificate from the Government of India.

Age Limit For UPSC CMS Posts

Candidates for this examination must be under 32 years old as of 1st August, 2024 (born on or after 2nd August, 1992), except for Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of Central Health Services, where the maximum age limit is 35 years as of the same date.

Age Relaxation:

  • Candidates with Physical Disability: 10 years relaxation
  • Ex-servicemen with continuous 5 years of service: 5 years relaxation
  • Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST): 5 years relaxation
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC): 3 years relaxation
